NRO is encouraging Senate Republicans to vote against Geithner based on
this new and detailed evidence of his failure to pay taxes. It wasn't a "common mistake" and Geithner cannot blame his accountants. He might be "brilliant" but I bet we can find a brighter bulb in the box.
missing to pay self employment taxes on a program your involved in is a stupid mistake - and as Obama said -an embarrassment. but the amount is to be considered as in the idea of the relevancy of how "big" a mistake. if you're managing a larger income from several sources - you get more room for error. it's not "ok" - but saying "omg he can't possibly h old that office now" is a bit much.
ReplyDeleteI know there is a margin of error in accounting. It would be impossible to balance to the penny, but had Geithner been a Republican appointee he would have been expected to have balanced to the penny... There are are a lot of double standards in politics and the media.
