Krauthammer Warns of Four More Years

I'm off to the hospital again this morning but I can't start Friday without my weekly Krauthammer, which this week is sort of depressing.

I seldom disagree with Dr. Krauthammer on anything, but I would point out when he suggests that Obama will spend the next two years running for re-election, Obama has been campaigning ever since...well, the campaign.  He's never quit running for office.  But, that said, I understand Krauthammer's point.  The first two years of this nightmare presidency have been to push through the massive entitlement expansions and deficit hiking programs that he dreamed and now he has to tweak those and campaign for four more years in order to complete his decimation of the country.

It depresses me to no end to think of the possibility of another four years of this.  I can't bear it.

Krauthammer tells Republicans, "Don't underestimate Barack Obama."  Good lord, there's no way I would.  He scares the hell out of me.  In my "Pollyanna" worldview, I have to believe, however, as the effects of Obamacare become more evident to those who didn't pay attention during the debate of the issue, and as the tax cuts expire soon, and the Obama tax hikes kick in, at least some of the people who put him in office will see the light.

What's in store for us if he gets re-elected?  According to Krauthammer:

The next burst of ideological energy — massive regulation of the energy economy, federalizing higher education, and “comprehensive” immigration reform (i.e., amnesty) — will require a second mandate, meaning reelection in 2012.

I hate to see what he'll do to education, "higher" or not,  having seen his pick of Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings.  God help us.

Krauthammer is correct to warn of complacency, however.  We can't bear another four years.  I'm not even sure we can recover from the first four.  And to that end, I'd warn the Republicans that it is imperative to put the right person up front.  I don't know who it is yet, but it's about time to start figuring out who will be the right person to retake the White House.  I'm not thrilled with any of them out there so far, or at least, any that have been touted as possibilities.  While there are things about each that I like, as the total package, I'm not seeing it.

I suppose there is time for that, but in the meantime, we must focus on November.  Retaking the House and Senate should be our first priority, although Krauthammer suggests this will give Obama an easier time in 2012.

One step at a time.

  2. Depressing isn't the word. I'm depressed when I see the same tired names being put forward by the main stream meda as Republican front runners, as if they were chosen by actual Republicans. I've frankly had enough of Romney, Hucklebee, McCain, and Gingrich. We have some real conservatives who aren't getting the press because the msm is truly afraid of them. Paul Ryan comes to mind. Smart, great ideas, and conservative. I agree, though, we need to have a voice coming through now as our leader, and I've not seen the one I can get behind yet. Here's a start -- RYAN for President, 2012!!

  3. I second Paul Ryan. The man is sharp and could decimate Obama in debates.

  4. I'm curious how much Obama's immigration reform (i.e., amnesty) will differ from Reagan's immigration reform (i.e., amnesty). If it is similar or not as far reaching as Reagan's, will you support it?
As far as campaigning while in office, isn't that something all incumbents do no matter what party.
I think for the Republicans to have any chance in 2012, they will have to go after the middle. I think the Tea Party ideology alienates the middle. Obama didn't win because most of the country is liberal, he won because he was able to pull in the middle. The battleground is the middle. I am not saying the Tea Party is all racist, not even close, but it has been tainted by the racists with in the party. As long as the GOP's agenda leans far right and embraces the Tea Partiers, it will play well to a diminishing base but alienate middle America.
    Have a blessed day.

  5. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. I really like Charles Krauthammer and also read this in the paper this morning. God help us all if Obama would win re-election.

  8. I think the first "Anonymous" is seriously deluded. 4% unemployment was worse than 10+ percent? Tripling the deficit is better? Destroying the health care, domestic auto manufacturing, and financial industries is better than the Bush years? This idiot's blind loyalty to Odumba and the Dumbocrats just shows he is so used to living on the Democrat Party plantation that he'd rather keep his chains on and be enslaved than go free. He should remember that the Democrats gave us the Civil War, fugitive slave laws, the KKK, and Jim Crow laws.

  9. Joe Texan. To belong to a party who's mascot is an elephant, it seems like a lot of you guys have poor memories. There was a time when the Democratic Party had both a leftwing and a rightwing. Are you aware or familiar with the terms "Dixiecrat" and "Reagan Democrat"? For the most part the Rightwing of the Democratic party left and became Republican.
My parents are as conservative as I am liberal. I love them a lot. They were Reagan Democrats. They changed parties.
I remember the first gubernatorial election that I was becoming politically aware. It was between Edwards and Treen. I remember asking my mother who she was going to vote for. She went into a rant about how Edwards was a womanizer, gambler and such. So I asked if she would vote for Treen She said no, he's a Republican. After Reagan pulled a lot of the conservative Democrats to the Republican party, my parents became Republicans.
For the most part the South was Democrat. More than likely at one time your parents and grandparents (and their parents and grandparents) were Democrats if they lived in the South.
Now to imply that Democrats similar to today's Democrats gave us the Civil War, fugitive slave laws, the KKK, and Jim Crow laws is not completely honest. I think it would be more accurate to say Conservative Democrats gave us the Civil War, fugitive slave laws, the KKK, and Jim Crow laws.
When you are referring to someone or an entire political party as "dumb", have you facts straight.
If I have misspoken, show me how I'm wrong.
    Have a blessed day.

  10. Just to cheer you up, I've found a couple clips of some very motivated people... one who speaks for about 60,000,000 people of the "conservative sportsmen" group. (I want to party with these guys)... Check out: http://radiopatriot.wordpress.com/2010/07/17/telling-it-like-it-is/#comment-3375

... and I love this lady at a TEA party in Georgia: http://saucyusa.blogspot.com/2010/07/enough-corruption-smorgasbord-ready-to.html

I just read about a gun shop owner in Utah is completely up to date on all the shite going down.

Moral of my post: there are MILLIONS of conservative, moderate, independent, average Americans who are PISSED and can't WAIT to vote these numbskulls out in 2010, 2012, 2014 - as long as it takes.

There are movements to take back Hollywood and education, too.

NEVER give up hope. America will FIGHT. A few thousand progressive-commie-marxists will lose.

Sorry 20% of America who call themselves "liberal": the other 80% will return America to the constititutional republic. You don't like it? Move to Cuba.

  11. It will be impossible for BO to fix the economy using Keynesian/Marxist policies. 2012 will be a landslide.
