I think it's safe to say that President Obama has given up on bipartisanship, at least for the foreseeable future.
When was he ever practicing "bipartisanship"? It's been Blame Bush and Blame Republicans ever since Obama walked onto the national stage. Obamacare, the Stimulus and everything else this administration has rammed through Congress has been done strictly on party lines, for the most part, with Obama bellowing about Republicans being "the party of no" the entire time.
Yet he does still have his supporters. And to them, I'm with Stacy McCain:
What’s really depressing is the thought that some percentage of the adult population greater than zero is so intensely stupid as to believe a speech composed chiefly of self-glorification, blame-shifting, naked partisanship, false dilemmas, class warfare and Keynesian claptrap.Sad, but true.
And now it's not only Bush's fault, but Boehner's fault as Obama elevated Boehner's status by giving him eight shout outs in his speech. Boehner must be pleased!

I loved it. Mr. B should be illustrated for what he says and then what he does.

2. Starting to Get That 'I Can't Believe the GOP Lost to This Guy' Feeling?
Obama went to Ohio Wednesday and, well, at least there were no dog references this time.
Michelle Malkin summarizes: "Ohio was on center stage today as President Obama went toe-to-toe with GOP leader John Boehner jobs (though, er, the president thought he was in Illinois for a gaffetastic moment). The job-killer-in-chief spoke outside Cleveland, where Boehner addressed the economy two weeks ago. . . . Obama name-checked Boehner no less than seven times. He lied about Republicans failing to specify proposed government cuts (see here and here and here for starters). He pretended to champion construction workers again (while failing to mention how he's punishing those who refuse to join unions). And he attacked the GOP for engaging in the politics of fear...while stoking hysteria over the conservative backlash against his culture of corruption and entitlement. Yep, there's fear in the air alright."
Robert Stacy McCain had to listen to it, and it sounds like the worst part of a bad day: "Between having my car totalled -- the insurance company today offered us only about $1,500, which is far less than we owe the finance company -- and having to watch Obama give a speech, I'm in a particularly bleak mood now. What's really depressing is the thought that some percentage of the adult population greater than zero is so intensely stupid as to believe a speech composed chiefly of self-glorification, blame-shifting, naked partisanship, false dilemmas, class warfare and Keynesian claptrap."
Drew M., writing at Ace of Spades: "I'm guessing Obama is going after Boehner by name and not saying "Republicans" because Republicans are doing better than Democrats on most issues. . . . I guess since people actually do miss Bush, he's out as Public Enemy Number 1 and Boehner is in."
The minority leader's office asks, Who, us?: "'The fact that President Obama and the White House are so focused on what John Boehner is saying shows just how out-of-touch they really are,' says Boehner spokesman Kevin Smith. 'Americans are concerned about jobs, spending, and health care, yet this White House is flailing because it has no answers.'"
You know why conservative bloggers can't figure out why Obama is suddenly paying enormous attention to John Boehner? Because conservative bloggers don't pay enormous attention to John Boehner. In fact, the last people to pay enormous attention to John Boehner were probably his family. This is not to knock him, but to illustrate the inanity of the Obama camp's last-minute demonization effort. It's tough to gin up a good Two Minutes Hate after the Two Minute Warning. The economy's a shambles, and Obama wants Americans to focus their ire on . . . that guy? Him? The orange fella who looks like a hardware-store owner who's managing a House caucus small enough to meet in a phone booth? If he reaches any further, Obama's next scapegoat will be an actual goat.
What is really scary....the fact he may yet win reelection...hey, he got elected as the most unqualifed man to run for dog catcher.

Can someone explain to me how the Republicans are holding up policy initiatives in Washington? The Dems have a firm control of both Houses yet consistently fault the Republicans for blocking legislation. Does anyone in the US really believe these statements?
