With Apologies to Clement Clarke Moore

Twas the night before the election when all through the land
Not a liberal was stirring as they sat on their hands;

Sample ballots were marked by the voters with care
In hopes that the wave soon would be there.

The Republicans were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of takeovers danced in their heads

And Nancy with her Botox and Harry's face all stern
Had just settled down for a long night's returns

When out at the polls there arose such a clatter
They sprang from their beds to see what was the matter.

Away to their pollsters they ran like a flash
To see what Republicans were left they could smash

When what to their wondering eyes should appear
But a Republican majority and power so dear

A look at their TVs, so lively and quick
They knew in a minute their trouble was thick.

More rapid than rockets the returns as they came
And we whistled and shouted and called them by name:

Now Rubio, now Raese, now Carly and Angle,
On Kirk, on Bielat, on Ayotte and O'Donnell!

To the top of the charts, to the top of the Hill!
Now dash away, dash away, oh what a thrill!

As the liberals before the Tea Party flies
They blame George Bush then begin to cry

So up to the Hill the Republicans flew
With a Pledge for America and a new Speaker too.

Okay, okay.  You get the idea.  Not One Red Cent is not one to count our chickens and all that  but the predictions are looking fine for tomorrow's returns.  Thanks today to Professor Jacobson for the shout out of our work there.

Now dash away, dash away, dash away all, AND VOTE!

  1. I voted on Friday and my wife votes tomorrow. I hope that Reid loses...

  2. Moore would most likely have been pleased.
