And The Tree Was On the Curb by Noon

My dead Christmas tree was on the curb before noon today.  Christmas is all boxed up, packed and stored for next year.  The dogs are happy to have their big window back so they can supervise the neighborhood again, and we're happy for the light to come back in!

We had a wonderful and lazy Christmas day.  I cooked the big lunch and we spent the rest of the day lounging around.  I spent most of the day reading (and eating).  I watched all 24 hours of The Christmas Story marathon with the exception of four episodes.

And now?  Now it's time to kick back, enjoy a few bowl games, watch the NHL Winter Classic on 1/1/11, and then....time for Mardi Gras!

Hope all of you had a wonderful holiday and aren't snowed in, wherever you are.  It's going to be 75 degrees here this week.

  1. there are three bowl games woth your time..the Rose Bowl on New Years Day so we can see if TCU deserves to be with the big boys, the Cotton Bowl on 1/7 be it meaningless..it is LSU and Texas A&M..and the BCS Championship on 1/10....the Winter Classic..no thanks

I went to Mardi Gras once when I was in college.never went back...and I sure don't understand why ANYBODY would go stand in the cold and wet for the opportunity to catch some plastic trinkets with all the drunks and celebrate "the last big party before lent"....
to each his own..I'll just go play three holes of golf with my 5 iron

  2. So the twelve days of Christmas hold no interest for you? We are celebrating right up until midnight on 5 Jan, 2011. There are end-of-year sales on right now, so I am getting lots more prezzies, on the cheap, for the wife, teen-age daughter, grown son and his wife, and the grandsons. On my street, more people this year seem to have caught on, with the sparkly lights still on outside. I'll probably even send a Twelfth Night cake to my daughter's history teacher, whom we despise, not because she is a rather aggressive Unitarian, (Yeah, I know, that ought to be an oxymoron.)but because she is a Socialist. So much good cheer will just drive her further 'round the bend.

I am having trouble logging on, so: My name is Michael Adams, even though I am Mr. Anonymous, to Blogger.
