If Obamacare is So Great....Question of the Day

If Obamacare is so great, why has the administration granted waivers to some "30 insurers, employers and union plans, responsible for covering about one million people" not to mention Congressional members themselves and no doubt Obama himself and his family?

If Obamacare is so great, why have small businesses like McDonalds and 3M announced dropping coverage on all or part of their groups?

If Obamacare is so great, why do one in four Democrats want it repealed?  Fifty percent of Americans want the bill gone.

Any answers?

Shoot ya'll, you haven't figured this out. It's so great, because it was born in the mind of our Fearless Leader, The One, The Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, the Long Awaited.

Is is, therefore, beyond reproach. Just ask Oprah. She'll set you straight, gurrrl-frieund.

Or, if she's not available, you can listen to the daily briefing by Obama Bob. He'll tell you the same things.

Honest. I couldn't make this up if I wanted to...

The husband of my girlfriend of over 40 years has a bad heart. She works as a hair dresser and he is retired from a job at a company where he worked for over 40 years. He has good health insurance yet she told me a couple years ago that there was a maximum amount that would be spent on helping him. Now he will not have to choose between health care and life.

I have another friend who has always had health insurance paid by her personally, as she has always worked for a company that does not offer a plan. She had to go to the hospital 3 years ago with a raging infection in her leg. She returned home and was doing pretty well. She went back to work. She got a notice her health insurance was cancelled. She was told she had as much as lied about a scar she had on you leg from a bike accident when she was 15, because she didn't list it in the "other" blank on the check off list about health issues. As of a couple days ago she has been able to purchase insurance again with the provisions of the health care law.

These are only 2 things that are good about the health care law. I don't agree to the pandering to big corporations like McDonald's, Wal-mart, etc.

I believe health insurance companies should be put out of business, and you can bet that when the law goes into effect and is made better by changes, just like were done with SS, the "tag" Obama-care will go away and suddenly we will see GOP legislators taking credit for it.

Because they know better than we do what's good for us. Every time I think about the last couple of years a song from Rush comes to mind called 'Witch Hunt' where Geddy Lee sings that 'Those who know what's best for us must rise up and save us from ourselves' and that was from the early 80s...

You mean forcing businesses to sell their goods and services at a loss will make the businesses cranky? Who'da thunk it?

And here I thought we'd all just ride into the promised land on the backs of skittles-shitting unicorns....

The Vegas Art Guy,

The song that comes to mind whenever I think about what is going on, here and now, is 2112 by RUSH. All you have to do is change the name "Temples of Syrinx" to Progressive Liberal (tolerant, open-minded, benevolent, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit...) Democraps

The following is a portion of 2112 that explains it all...

I. Temples of Syrinx

... "The massive grey walls of the Temples rise from the heart of every Federation city. I have always been awed by them, to think that every single facet of every life is regulated and directed from within! Our books, our music, our work and play are all looked after by the benevolent wisdom of the priests..."

We've taken care of everything
The words you hear, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes.
It's one for all and all for one
We work together, common sons
Never need to wonder how or why.

We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls.
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls.

Look around at this world we've made
Equality our stock in trade
Come and join the Brotherhood of Man
Oh, what a nice, contented world
Let the banners be unfurled
Hold the Red Star proudly high in hand.

We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls.
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls.

Well, you and the president, both. Put outof business and replaced with what? Believe me, you're not going to like it. Your girlfriend's husband will not have to choose because the government will choose for him, and if it is save the life of a non-productive, non-taxpaying citizen or cut the ties that bind, well what kind of decision will be made? All the pressure from the cost perspective side will be to cut costs and save the money for someone else, and don't fool yourself into thinking they will not be motivated to minimize costs. With your girlfriend's husband and every man jack coming out of the woods to pick up his affordable government paid for care, there will be massive cost pressures. What will not be present will be considerations for the patient, because no one making the decision knows or cares about him.

Does that really sound good to you?
