The Fallout Begins

Primary night got even wilder after the Delaware race was called, it seems.  I shut everything down and tried to go to bed (not very successfully, I might add - UP every hour for one thing or another...) but I did see Karl Rove trashing O'Donnell on Hannity.  It was, of course, a sign of things to come.

Never mind the "let's unite" philosophy that normally takes place after an election like this.  Never mind pulling together for November.  Now we have Rove acting like a sore loser trashing the winner.  We have Rachel Madow who, in the absence of a Christine O'Donnell Sex Tape, is pulling out a Christine O'Donnell TALKING about sex tape.  Michelle Malkin reports that the NRSC is refusing to back O'Donnell in the general election, a move Professor Reynolds calls "dumb" more than once.

And it hasn't even been 24 hours since the victory in Delaware.

Oh, and Charlie Rangel held off his challengers in New York.  Go figure.

The good news?  Rubio is trouncing Crist in Florida.

It is a sad and dark Wednesday morning here when the Republicans eat their young.

Great fun..."chickens home to---etc.)". People forget that NY politics is just as corrupt as Chicago, hence Rangel. The Republican leaders just don't like people like O'Donnel or Palin, who cut their own trail.

On a side, Boehner's statement about voting with Dems on the Bush tax cuts 'if best deal he can get', though retracted, (wish I could retract to a cop that I was speeding that easily) shows the real problem, that many if not most Republicans just still don't get it. This is what they want to be the next Speaker? More of the same politics of compromise. The hiding RINOs will be coming out of the woodwork between now and Nov. 2, so keep your eyes open.

Oh my god! You just made me laugh so hard I spit carrots ... I'm dieting. Haven't turned orange yet but that's probably next.

It's so true. The party is in a full scale melt down today.

I agree that something seemed wrong with Rove. His body language would almost suggest that he was scared. I don't really get the logic of the Republican party, that is if they really represent conservatives. I would rather have the most in your face Communist in that senate seat than a Republican that was going to vote with the liberals. At least the people in Delaware now have a clear choice. We can only hope that they will look past this woman's personal problems (it they exist) and vote for her message. After all, how many of us could stand up to the investigation and spin on our every move and thought?

Laurence,
I totally agree with you. It is time for the Republicans to stop compromising. They need to stop voting for something simply because it is the "best" deal. I say shut the government down if we have to.
