Something Fishy In Charlie's Camp

How in the world did I miss THIS story yesterday?

State Republicans moved the three-way U.S. Senate race to a new level Saturday, with party leaders pointing to an audit of their books they say implies Gov. Charlie Crist— now an independent candidate for U.S. Senate — ran up potentially "hundreds of thousands" of dollars in inappropriate charges.

Party Chairman and state Sen. John Thrasher said the expenses came to light during the just-completed forensic audit by Alston & Bird LLP — which was the examiner in energy giant Enron's 2002 bankruptcy. He said the party may sue their former standard bearer to get the money back.

Not surprised.  When you lie down with dogs...

And the defense?  Crist's camp is crying foul saying
..."party bosses" should "stop playing the same old political games and take a hard look at their own nominee" before attacking Crist.

Moral equivalency is seldom a good strategy.

Hmm,"moral equivalency"?

I'm not sure supporters of David Vitter, particularly female supporters of David Vitter, are legally allowed to use the word "moral" or "morals" in discussing politics until they develop some of their own.

Of course, anonymous.....anything to shift the topic of discussion away from Crist's opportunism!!

Da GOV has another issue...he's drawing his full salary while campaigning full time...he said "as long as I have my phone and am in contact with my office, I'm the governor..."

Hey GOV, that's good for a few days...but not for months at a time...give up the money or pass the duties to your LT GOV on a temporary basis.

BTY Anon, please show morals and guts by putting a name forward...and yes, Vitter, like the ex-president Clinton was caught in adultery. But unlike Clinton, Vitter's was a personal matter...he didn't lie to the grand jury, aka perjure himself. That was a felony. You should try your morals test on the National Organization of Gals, the NAGs...

Could really care less about two Republicans in a p*ssing contest in Florida, Crist is obviously an opportunist, First he used to have an "R" after his name, which makes him questionable and then he dropped it at his convenience.

Also not that concerned about David's fetishes. More concerned about the mindset that allows one to keep an abuser of women on his staff, protect said staffer, pay for his trips to Louisiana for a court date and have the audacity to leave the guy in charge of women's issues. That's where morality comes into play.

(P.S. - Clinton's no gem, but his behavior was private, too, until the GOP got so desparate they drug his private, consensual sex into a public investigation. Vitter's lucky his paid excursions didn't get the same treatment.)
