I'm going to reiterate what I have said here before (and likely invite the ire of all my democratic friends), but Mr. Obama has displayed poor judgment in his association with Mr. Ayers, Mr. Rezko, Mr. Wright, Mr. Farrakhan, etc.
The current spin by his campaign that he "didn't know the history" about Ayers is hogwash.
As it has been pointed out to me before, just because you have crazy friends does not make you crazy; it does not make you like them. But I see a pattern here in Mr. Obama's associations and I do not trust him. I do not.
Yes, it is true that Mr. Obama was eight when Ayers was blowing things up but he was 40 when Ayers said he "didn't do enough" with regard to the bombings. Obama also served on boards with Ayers and knew who and what he was. Ayers launched Obama's senatorial campaign in Chicago in his home, and Obama knew who and what he was. Did he think Ayers was repentant? Surely not. Or was he just doing what he had to do to get introduced into the machine that is Chicago politics? Maybe. Ayers posed for this picture in 2001 while he and Obama served on the Woods board together. Do I hold Obama responsible for the actions of Mr. Ayers? No, but I think as an ambitious politician you should probably pick your associates a little better.
Do I think Obama listened to Wright for TWENTY YEARS and didn't know the man was full of vile hatred? Do I think he was that clueless? No. I think he finally left Trinity Church because it was politically expedient to do so. I think he likely joined there in the first place because it was a political benefit as well.
Poor judgment. That is all. Poor character. Poor leader. Poor choice.

a bit like McCain and his relationship with Keating being "bad judgment" eh? You can find an "alter" story for each candidate if you look hard enough. God I'll be glad when this campaign is over - it gets uglier by the day on BOTH sides.

of course you don't think so - you're a McCain fan - you are absolutely already set to see the worst in Obama and the best in McCain - it's pure psychology - and everyone's doing it. truly. McCain's buddy was his BUDDY and the guy went to jail for fraud - McCain himself has said it was a horrible case of judgment of a person - and I know those two cases are not comparable to you but that wasn't really my point - my point was you always point out what you don't like about the Democrats - you come across completely biased - you never post a negative thing about McCain or Palin - and I think anyone could find enough disturbing stuff about ANY of them - b/c I think ALL politicians are corrupted in some fashion on the way up and if not - they compromise to win in the end after a campaign trail

And seriously, if these are the kinds of posts I can look forward to for the next month, it will be a month before I come back to this blog. I can get these kinds of stories from right wing media.
Well one thing for tonight that I like about McCain; I'll do more tomorrow but for now I'll just do one. I like how he tried to regulate the Wall Street junkies so that the mess we are in now might now have happened. Of course, the measure was defeated by the democratic congress, but he did try. I also like his resolve and his plans for national security. I'll go back and find my post about all the things I like about him and link back to it - easier that way.
My original point was (and I can see how I might have obscured it) is that I don't think domestic terrorists ought to associate with presidents. It just doesn't look nice.
Yeah but that's one post yet you've bashed Obama numerous times on this blog, but only talked about what you like about McCain once, and it was when you were prompted to in a comment. I've seen a few posts about Palin but none on McCain himself. It's so frustrating to hear people bash candidates yet rarely talk about why their candidate is a good choice. It's hard to respect someone's political stance when 99% of the time they just make attempts to tear down the other candidates. It's what I HATE about what's going on in politics right now, and everyone is doing it.
Your original post ended with "Poor character. Poor leader. Poor choice." That's pretty much an Obama slam if I ever saw one. Don't see how that got obscured. Your message came across loud and clear. It's a pretty extreme statement, too.
i will concede that i absolutely liked that McCain said he'd fire SEC chairman, who is Republican I believe! nice to see someone running make a definitive statement like that on this crisis.
