Paper and Ink

Since February of 2009 I've been waiting for this book and lo and behold it arrived on my front porch today!

No Higher Honor.

I read Condi's first book, "Extraordinary People..." and admired her writing style.  I can not wait to get into this new book.

734 pages of goodness!  And the best part?  It's paper and ink.  No Kindle mess on this one.  First thing I did when I opened the box?  I opened the book to the middle and stuck my nose in the spine to sniff the fresh paper and ink.  Like when I was a kid in elementary school and the teacher passed out those purple mimeographed worksheets that still were damp and smelled like ink.  Heaven.

Can't do that with a Kindle!

Nothing better than good paper smell.

I can close my eyes and smell a mimeographed quiz! Thanks for the memory.

Something else you can't do with a Kindle. If she makes it to your neighborhood you can't take the Kindle and ask her "Secretary Rice, can you sign this...."
