"Assets Did Not Move..."

Unconscionable:
On the night of the Benghazi terror attack, special operations put out multiple calls for all available military and other assets to be moved into position to help -- but the State Department and White House never gave the military permission to cross into Libya, sources told Fox News.
They sat in the Situation Room and did nothing.

Nothing.

There was that 3 am call Hilary "WDDIM?" Rodham Clinton warned us about. Except she was only half right: neither she nor Obama were up to the challenge.

I find myself wondering what these people have done with their souls.

I'm with you; I've got nothing on this...I'm just dumbfounded. It's awful.

One heck of a cover up taking place. If the truth ever comes out Obama and Hillary will look bad. I believe the media will do everything they can to make sure we never find out what really went on that night. Thank God for the efforts of Fox News to find out.

May I presume you're at least equally distraught over the 4000+ U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq, a war based on false pretenses?

Tony,

Perhaps you do not intend by this comment to sneer at the deaths of heroes who volunteered to go into harm's way in Iraq and gave their lives willingly for our sakes and yours.

Perhaps you do not intend by this comment to sneer at the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi who chose honor over cowardice and held their posts until they were murdered.

This topic is about Benghazi, and the failures that occurred there. I don't know if you even intended to address me with your question, but if you would like to know MY opinion about IRAQ, I have posted that at extensive length on my own blog.

My son fought in Iraq, twice, and if you search "Mettle of Honor" on my blog, you will find a series of 5 posts that tells the story of the 3rd LAR, and especially of the seven in their company who were killed there.

I was responding to the author of this blog.

However, I'm curious how you could possibly interpret my comment as a "sneer".

Furthermore, Tina, perhaps you could provide some justification for ANYONE having to die in Iraq.

The selective outrage regularly on display here is laughable.

Until Shrub, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al are tried as war criminals, your criticism of BHO rings a tad hollow. But go ahead, keep diving down that rabbit hole.

(And, I'll look forward to your justifications for invading Iraq)

How many intelligence agencies thought Saddam had WMDs, Tony?. I think the decision to invade Iraq was based on this intell. Did BH support that decision?

Oh Bill,

Where shall I begin?

First of all, Obama was an Illinois state senator during the lead-up to the Iraq war, and therefore had no vote in the U.S. Congress at the time. However, there is ample (video) evidence of his feelings on invading Iraq. (Shouldn’t be difficult for you to find online…email me if you need guidance here.)

Second, the concept of a pre-emptive invasion of Iraq was formulated by PNAC, the Project for a New American Century in the late 1990’s. PNAC was a right-wing “think”-tank whose board members included Bill Kristol (founder), Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Jeb Bush, Scooter Libby, John Bolton, and a host of other war-mongers.
Third, in one of the initial White House staff meetings following 9/11, Donald Rumsfeld tasked his staff to find any tenable link to Saddam Hussein and the attacks. Absent this, “intelligence” was cooked up and presented to the President in the form of statements from Ahmed Chalabi, the leader of the feckless Iraqi National Congress and Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi (a.k.a. “Curveball”), both insisting that WMD were overtly present and could easily be found. Such claims were debunked by U.N. and U.S. weapons inspections teams led by Hans Blix and David Kay, respectively. Additionally, the infamous “16 words” regarding alleged uranium procurement and enrichment by Saddam Hussein from Niger, words that were allowed to remain in Bush’s 2003 State of the Union address, were proven false by former Ambassador Joe Wilson (of course you know the rest of THIS story, read: Wilson’s wife, Valarie Plame, being vengefully outed as a covert CIA operative by Scooter Libby).

Finally, the administration was required to send the only credible cabinet member, Colin Powell, to make the case to the U.N. for invasion based on “WMD”, something that Powell has publicly stated was completely false.

I suggest you pay a little closer attention to the world around you.

Sounds like Tony is a Rachel Maddow fan. About as much BS as she spouts each night on that much watched network MSNBC.

After saying Obama was still in Illinois when we went into Iraq most everything else is fiction. Wish Barry had stayed in Illinois. Not even you, Tony, can think that he is doing a good job as president.

Colin Powell credible?? Why do you think that? Maybe because he supports BHO now.

Bill,

I'd love to hear your version of the facts, genius. Please, enlighten me as to what transpired.

And still waiting to hear from you (or Tina, or anyone) some valid reasons for the bloodbath we created in Iraq.

Bill said...

Have never claimed to be a genius, Tony. Just someone who spent a career defending your right to support any politician that you think is best for our country. Afraid you chose wrong with Obama. Maybe the worst president in history. Still you certainly have a right to back him. I hope you have a good life.

Ahh, “Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel”.

I, too, served this nation (care to swap DD-214’s?), however feel no compunction to crow about it, or offer it up as a defensive canard.

I feel all able-bodied citizens ought to serve this nation publically in one way or another. Hell, bring back the draft, and begin to itemize the War Tax on everyone’s pay-stubs.

Perhaps that would give pause, to those of a particular political persuasion, prior to declaring pre-emptive war so out-of-hand.

Meanwhile, tell me, exactly what it was you claim to have protected me from?
