And Now Back To Guitar Players

Just once more, indulge me for my new friend Sarah, some Mark Knopfler. Knopfler is fabulous and is in fact allowed to breathe in the same air-space that is the awesomeness of Clapton. The chill bumps start at 5:43 for me on this one because I know what's coming. By 6:57 I'm down.

Damn, I am SUCH a groupie.

OK, admittedly, the only thing I know about him is that "Money For Nothing" was my favorite song when I was very little...I used to beg my dad to play it and I'd dance my heart out. Then I discovered The Beach Boys and I no longer wanted my MTV!!

Aaaah the Beach Boys! Now THERE's some good stuff! That's too funny because today I walked by someone's office, they had the radio on, and it was "California Girls." Anyway, MTV isn't what it used to be.

Are you serious or mocking me? LOL I LOVE THE BEACH BOYS. I have since I was about seven or eight...it's pathetic. When I was a kid and most of my friends were following people like Michael and Janet Jackson, I was making my little cousin harmonize "Surfer Girl" with me.

No no no, I love the Beach Boys too; totally! I read Brian Wilson's memoir in what, 91?, 92? I think he's a genius and he's had a rough road. I grew up listening to the Beach Boys, too, and they can take me back to the beach, Florida in my case, on any given moment. The Beach Boys are a classic. Any by the way, I think you have GREAT taste in music (and politics for that matter) so no, not mocking. Not at all.

Ok - I get a lot of kidding for my Beach Boys thing, just had to make sure!

A former boss of mine's husband is/was a song writer and they lived in Southern California up until they moved to Georgia around 2003. I can't remember his name but he was around during the Beach Boys' glory days and they had some excellent stories...a lot about the Manson stuff...she'd talk all night when we had nothing better to do. So much fun!!!

As for politics, I wondered when you first posted on my blog and said you were a former hippie...I though oh no, I'm betting we have an Obama vote here! Then I saw a few posts you made. I tend to scare people off with my politics too...but I've sort of laid low on that lately.
