I'm still not wading too far into the raging blame game that is still flaming all over the airwaves and internet as everyone tries to figure out where the blame lies for the Arizona tragedy.
Depending on where you look, it's Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin's fault. Or maybe it's Rush Limbaugh's fault. It's Sharron Angle's fault and the Tea Party's vitriol that caused this kid to go over the edge. It's the fault of the administrators at the college Loughner attended because he was obviously nuts and they didn't do anything. On and on it goes.
Enough already! How about some kind of personal responsibility here? Maybe the kid was just nuts. Maybe it's nobody's fault. Were there warning signs? Sure. Of course. Where were his parents?
Enough with the blame. You'll never really know the answer and knee jerk reactions aren't going to change things.
Turn it down, support the injured and the families of those who died. Give blood. Send money. Do whatever you need to do but stop blaming everyone except the kid who pulled the trigger.

You're one of the few that's making sense out here.
I agree 100%. I am no Sarah Palin fan, as you know, but I don't think it's fair to blame her (or anyone) but the guy who committed the crime. This is a tragic case where people need to put their personal political agendas aside. It's not the time or the place for that, and it's beyond tacky and disrespectful to the victims.
Pat, I agree with you about the guy could have just been nuts. I think crazy people find influences to do crazy things. Whether it is gangster rap, heavy metal, violent movies, holy books, political vitriol, a talking dog, etc..., there are a many number of things that can influence crazy people to do crazy things.
The other thing, even if he took inspiration from Beck, Palin or Rush, I doubt it was the ONLY thing that drove him to what he did. I think being bat-stuff crazy has a lot more to do with it than politics.
I think half the times I've posted here I've mentioned about "demonizing" your opposition. I think this is one of the things that can happen when you demonize people you don't agree with, but this is a story that has played out many many times.
Could have been worse...a Muslim militant could have flown a plane into the shopping center and killed a whole lot more...it's not Bush's fault, it's not Obama's fault, it's nobodys fault except the kid that pulled the trigger...
enough on this one. Next story!
Good stuff here, linked at RR today-
If There's Still Any Hope of Salvaging the MSM's Credibility... They're Going to Have to STOP LYING First
Good reminder.
The kid did it, and whatever protocol was in place, if any, it was insufficient to stop him.
Maybe we'd better pay more attention to those among us who are suffering from mental illness. It's mighty tempting to look the other way.
