Because no nasty weather other than frigid temperatures materialized, we are back at school today, so blogging will be light. I will be in my chilly classroom greeting my new group of students for second semester.
Then I'm going to come home and hunker down for the rest of the frozen weekend!
I hate cold weather.
Talk amongst yourselves. How's the weather where you are?

It's the boys' first snow day in Fishersville. Just a trace of snow, but they've got six snow days built in the school calendar. Might as well use them.
I am Steve's niece in Clear Lake, IA (northern Iowa, about 25 miles from the Minnesota border). This morning the temperature is -8, and the wind chill is -29. So, your "brr" is my "hey! it's nice out!", and my "BRR!" is your expletives deleted. : )
Atlanta has shut down.
Cold temps don't really bother me that bad. I guess I'm lucky.
I go up this morning, went outside and remembered what Kurt Gowdy, during baseball season, would say at the beginning of NBC's Game of the week, "The sun is out, the sky is high, and it's a great day for baseball!"
It's CHILLY but more news of the recall efforts Landrieu are keeping my busy. Bundle up!
We are in the high 20's to 30's here in Alaska - warmer than a lot of you down south. Trust me, we feel your pain! Just remember, soon you'll be back to normal - we still have 4 more months!
Pat,
Just the usual Wisconsin winter stuff. We are in the mid-teens so it's pretty mild.
We missed the heavy snow and blizzard winds that Iowa got, but one still gets up at 5 to see how much snow needs to be shoveled to get out of the driveway. It seems that over the past few years many big winter storms stayed to the south of us. And for that I am glad.
-1 here in Omaha NE at 9 PM - they say we're headed to about -20 tonight so in my book that's brrrrrrr. Perhaps we should be planning a vacation to tropical Alaska?
Here in Lithia Springs, GA, west of Atlanta, we are still covered in a snow/ice mix. Snowed most of the evening Thursday. Well traveled roads are passable, but practically everything is closed or running on short staff. The campus where I work closed down yesterday so I got a free snow day. There's supposed to be a state-wide swim met there today - wonder how that's gonna work out!?! It has not gotten above freezing since Tuesday, so the white stuff is not budging!
Stay warm!
We had no heat in my part of the building yesterday; once they got something going, I finally topped at 61 degrees in my classroom. Way too cold! We had class in the cafeteria with clanging pots and pans and tempting food smells. We were warm but it didn't do much for anyone's concentration!
Hoping for heat next week.
Our local weather today is looking a little better. The sun is out and we'll hit 33 today. Still in the teens tonight, but we'll start warming up now - a little.
