Perry/Jindal 2012?

I like Perry/Rubio better, but if Perry picked Jindal for a VP it could make things interesting.  At any rate, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is set to endorse Perry:

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is backing Rick Perry for president, a major endorsement for the Texas governor as the campaign for the Republican nomination enters the crucial fall stretch of the primary calendar, a source tells CNN.

Jindal is on his way to Florida and will be Perry's guest at Monday night's "Tea Party Republican Debate" broadcast on CNN from Tampa, the source said. Jindal is expected to formally make the announcement prior to the debate.

The two have been supportive of each others endeavors through the years.  In his book Fed Up!, Perry mentions Jindal's efforts to save the Louisiana coastline during the BP spill last year while the federal government seemed to step in Jindal's way at every turn.

It seems a little early for endorsements, though, doesn't it?

It seems a little early for all of this but I was thrilled to hear about Jindal. I like him a lot and trust his opinion (or as much as one can trust a politician).

Pat, I don't think it's too early for endorsements.

Everybody that's getting in should be in by now. And if not, they don't have the steam to win anyway.

There is going to be a united front (at least I pray there will be) when all the nut-cuttin' has got did.

I was really leaning toward Bachmann before Perry got in. But, I think he has a better chance to be a good President than she does. I'd like to see HER on the Veep end of the ticket. Maybe the female populace will finally take notice that two white guys picked gals on the R side...

But, it's not just for the political "in your face" of the first female VP, either. I think she'd make a fine adviser, and after Perry serves two terms, a fine President herself...the gal is sharp.

I don't think we're looking at a Rick & Bobby show. Bobby will likely leave LA, and become the Secretary of Sumthin'orNother...or maybe just stick around and take Mary's Senate seat.

Which he SHOULD HAVE DONE last time around, instead of running for goober. The nation would be very different had Bobby taken her seat (which was ripe for the pickin'). But...water under the bridge...

I think geographically and as a matter of ideology, it wouldn't make sense. If Perry is nominated, I would fully expect him to pick Romney or Pawlenty to try to reach the independent voters.
By the way, Andy said "nut cuttin'" on your blog, just saying.

I noticed that, Jim. Was trying to overlook that.

But, since we're in the Oktoberfest spirit here at SIGIS, I'ma let it slide. (That's a good English-teacher word: "Im'a").

My apologies. I know that this is a high class blog that does not allow such.

Or, at least I should have.

Jim is a pee-pot, grunt-head...

And Pat, it's "imma."

I stand corrected Andy! Imma. Could'a sworn it was a contraction tho.

To all who will tend to get excited about Jindal please take a closer look and listen closely to true conservatives. Yes, there is a lot to like about Jindal, but he's not as conservative as he appears.

Amen, Anon@3:21 PM!

I was all in for Bobby at one time. Not so much now.

I like Bobby Jindal but, whether it's Perry or Romney, they should pick Rubio as their VP to increase the changes of winning Florida. Obama and the dems will have all those senior citizens in Florida scared into thinking that the repubs will be putting an end to social security and medicare. Need Rubio in there to convince them otherwise and to pick up the big hispanic/latino vote in Florida.
