What in the world would OJ have to gain by confessing now to Oprah (to Oprah?!) that he did in fact kill Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman?
Is he just trying to stay relevant?
Has someone promised him something?
Is he just, after all these years, feeling the need to clear his conscience?
It sounds weird to me. I know he did it. I watched every single minute of that exhaustive trial. He did it. But why confess now?
Because of double jeopardy he, of course, can't be tried again. He's already lost a civil suit filed against him by the Goldmans so he'll never have any substantial assets again. So again, I wonder, what's he got to gain by this sudden confession?
How's his health?

Pat, your post poses three very sane possibilities for why O.J. would finally confess to what 99% of the populace already knows that he did.
The "self-defense" deal is kinda weird to me, but I'm tossing that out as classic O.J.
The truth is that O.J. is just a nut case, and trying to understand the mind/actions of the insane steal valuable thinkin' time.
If he confesses, it's because HE'S A NUT! HE'S SOMEWHAT RETARDED, AND PROBABLY TOOK TOO MANY SHOTS TO THE HEAD FROM GYNORMOUS LINEBACKERS.
Seriously, he probably is trying to keep himself relevant. It's been a long time (in media years) since they locked him up. Most folks rarely (if ever) think one second about O.J. & his murder of Nicole. I figure as his sentence winds down, he knows he'll be out one day...and will likely do this again closer to his release date.
I'm voting for the "relevance" deal. Have a good time in Natchitoches.
