Random Thoughts

It would not be Christmas without some family drama, no?

I love, love, love Darius Rucker's voice.

Why don't people send Christmas cards anymore?  I mean, I get a few, but....not like I used to.

When you get down to cleaning the leaves of your corn plant, you've cleaned enough.

Why does my XM radio forsake the 40s on 4 for Holidays songs?  Why not a rap channel?

I get maudlin at Christmas and really miss people that aren't here anymore.

Why doesn't the school board end the semester on a Friday rather than have kids come back on a Monday and Tuesday before we break for Christmas?

I spend a month decorating for Christmas and whip that bitch back into the closet in one day.  Done!

What are the chances of a Rick Perry resurgence?  I'm hopeful.

And delusional.

I wish I lived on the ocean.

I saw a TV commercial for the Wounded Warrior Project last night and told Steve:  "That's who Carol will write a check to when LSU wins the BCS Championship!"

I really like The Dave Matthews Band but wish he'd keep his politics to himself.  I can't even watch Sean Penn or Johnny Depp or listen to Barbra Streisand without hearing their personal political views.  Entertainers should just entertain.

Steve posted this hilarious photo on his Facebook that he took today:

Seriously?  You can spell "furniture" but not "huge"?  And you color "Hugh Yard Sale" and NOT NOTICE?

WTF????!!!!

Is anybody there?

I was wondering if you were going to bring on the trash talk before the game. So…are you feeling lucky punk? You wanna up the bet to $200?

I feel the same way about entertainers. I love the Borne Identity movies and some of his others but Matt Damon is a LOON. I only watch movies once in a while, as in maybe 1 or 2 a year, because of all the political mumbo jumbo that actors spew. I won't eat a Heinz product because of Kerry/Heinz. It appears there are only a few like us out there who will not spend the money if we know it goes to the lefts political machine.

I know what you mean. Both my parents were about 40 when I was born and were the youngest siblings in their families, so almost all my family is gone.

Just be glad for the time you had with them and be glad for the people you have now.

His numbers have been going up and even a good third or fourth in IA gets him to the next round.

Rest easy, Pat: just plan on voting for Perry, and do so at the polls. He'll be the Republican nominee, and will be our next president.

The media, and the democrats, and the Washington mobius strip don't want Perry, but the people do. He'll will hands down. Nearly everywhere when the time comes.

A very Merry and blessed Christmas to you and yours!

I'm not nearly as confident as Tina about Perry's chances. That said, I'm planning on voting for him if he's still in by Primary time.

Yes, Pat...anyone is there! I love the line about decorating for a month, and then...well, you know.

Gonna be just the opposite for us. Neither of us have even ventured near the attic stairs to get the junk down. We'll probably decorate on the 24th, and then take a couple of months to whip that bitch back in the attic!
