Honoring the Fallen

You need a good cry today? Go watch this. I'm not going to steal it. Just go watch it.

It's from Sarah in Georgia who says: "In it, you see the Henry County PD escort the body of Sgt 1st Class John C. Beale from Peachtree City to a funeral home in McDonough, Georgia. According to the video caption, a notice was placed in the local paper, indicating the route and time of the procession. Just watching the video, I was overwhelmed at the number of people who showed up. It brought tears to my eyes, but at the very end, after the music, the sound of Taps being played really got to me. I am generally not a big crier, but I totally lost it watching this and I realized all that stuff I listed before doesn't mean a damn thing, really."

No truer words...

Speaking of Fallen Heroes. I just read a few moments ago that Darrell "Shifty" Powers passed away in June. I didn't know it, because the news media was covering other matters, including the death of a child molester.
For those who don't know who "Shifty" Powers was, that's o.k., because men like him did what he did not for the glory.
If you want to know about Shifty Powers, watch "Band of Brothers". He's mentioned several times.
God Bless You Sir. May you, and your brothers, rest in peace.
