Acorn at Obamacare Protest in Baton Rouge

Update: Welcome Instapundit readers! (My first Instalanche! Woot!~)

Update 2: Charlie Buras at The Old River Road has a follow-up to the incident - a response by one of the gentlemen in the video.

Acorn is out in force in favor of shutting down the opposition to Obamacare.

Yesterday, Michelle Malkin posted this video which shows Acorn folks going off on protesters in Suffolk County NY.

We saw Acorn present in Reserve, La., also; watch the short video clip and you'll see them.

The Old River Road posted this video today of what appears to be a Baton Rouge police officer silencing protesters opposed to Obamacare. Members of Acorn can be seen standing on the sidewalk glowering at the protesters as the police officer tells the protesters not to talk to anybody. Since when did it become against the law to talk in this country?

Acorn, the SEIU and other liberal groups are out in force for Obamacare, but I'm not sure how well it's working out for them. As we saw in Reserve, La., the rally for Obamacare quicky turned hostile and Sebelius seemed caught off guard. Moveon.org was taken off guard at the protest in Dallas earlier this week when far more tea party members showed up than they expected.

Keep the heat on, folks. In fact, turn it up! Here are the Blue Dogs; and here is an email and Fax list of members of Congress. Don't let Acorn win this one.

What's interesting is that at around 2:23 in the video, the African American Lady explaining to the white lady holding the camera that if you don't listen to what the policeman says, you are resisting arrest...

Is this what it's like being a white lady in America, Mr. Henry Louis Gates?

Check out regretmyvote.com if for no other reason it's premise...

Way to go america, a police state at hand.

It looks like a private security guard says you "must" obey any instruction of the police else you are "resisting."

Too bad you didn't have a chance to ask her if that applied to the Crowley-Gates interaction.

Maybe next time.

Don't you know...? You can't present contradictory facts to black folks. You can't disagree, however peacefully. That's racist.

Pure and simple. Come on, get with the program, people.

I do hope you got the name and badge number of that officer. While he does have the authority to keep the entrance of the building clear, he stepped over his authority by saying that you could not have a conversation with someone.

The ultimate irony is, if ObamaCare passes, the headlines will be...
"Women and Minorities Affected Most."

Fascinating. I'm guessing many of the same folks who think this officer is acting illegally (and, he is) believe that Crowley is a saint.

I think we should call them

A-PORN

from now on. That was grotesque.

Considering that one was responding to a 911 call and the other is attepmting to violate rights clearly protected by the First Amendment there would be nothing inconsistent about that.

Even if it were true, which is a dubious proposition at best.

ACORN people are thugs by and large. No tactic is out of bounds if it furthers their agenda.
Re:Gates and Crowley, I think Obama was right: Crowley was an idiot for doing exactly what Gates wanted him to do all along. If he had just walked away, "Skip" would have really had a fit. Bullies hate it when you do that.

BayouBubba, I have to disagree. If Crowley had just walked away Gates would have made sure that it still made the news only then it would have been Gates word verses Crowley. This way there is the 911 tape and subsiquent tapes to document what occured. This way Crowley has a chance to survive this.

It could be just me, but doesn't this remind you of the tactics the Ku Klux Klan used against blacks 50 years ago? Could it be that ACORN is now the black version of the KKK?

No one who has been to many rallies like this should be surprised at what happens here. The police always try to keep antagonistic groups apart. I've been ordered to keep my distance from the Gathering of Eagles crowd in DC and various second amendment rallies. This is no change from SOP, and no sign of an Obama police state.
